Propert圜ategor圜ollection oColl = value as Propert圜ategor圜ollection Finally, I can only think of to bind the ModelItem.Propert圜ategories thus we could get any information in the properties and use them as the node name. I have been racking my brain trying the way to provide more meaningful name. Now, if we open the model, the tree looks like as below.īut it is not elegant to hard-code the name of the node with “dummy”. Some more lines in the xmal are required, in order to tell the tree view control to use the class. we do not need to convert back at this moment Public object ConvertBack( object value, Type targetType, object parameter, CultureInfo culture) if it is empty, return an arbitrary string since we bind DisplayName to the node, the value is a string Public object Convert( object value, Type targetType, object parameter, CultureInfo culture) Public class NwTreeConverter : IValueConverter In our case, we need firstly create our own conversion class. I do not want to spend time to explain the theory of IValueConverter. again, the tutorial on internet tells more: It allows you with conditional statements. Well, does this mean we have no way to give the desired name by binding? No, WPF is much flexible. I do not suggest to bind them to the tree. But they are not meaningful to the end user. ModelItem.ClassName or ModelItem.ClassDisplayName are not empty in default. While I guess Navisworks organized the names when it is loading the CAD file. in this model which is from a DWG file, the layer has name, the block definition has name, however, insert or the end geometries have no name. It is supplied by the original CAD designer. The tree is built. But you may quickly find some nodes have no name! What’s up? Actually, ModelItem.DisplayName is the name displayed for the end user. e.g.ĭocument oDoc = documentControl.Document In our case, it is the root item of the tree. In general, this is the top of the hierarchy. tell the tree view control which data source you want to bind. In short, the key steps with tree binding are:ġ. It helped me to know the basic elements I need for building the tree. I am not a WPF expert, I’d appreciate many posts in internet which guides me how to get started with. Next, we need to tell the tree view which source to bind. I adjusted the width of Navisworks view control to make the tree control wider. You could either drag it from toolbox, or add the elements directly in the xaml. The whole project is available at Download ADN-NwWPFTreeįirstly, add a tree view control to the form. If you have some codes of Win Form to build the hierarchy tree of Navisworks model like the Selection Tree in UI, you must have to iterate each items and build the nodes & child nodes recursively. WPF has a built-in set of data services to enable application developers to bind and manipulate data within applications. One of its unique features is Data Binding. But it is much more powerful and flexible. As mentioned, WPF could be looked as the successor of Win Form. In the last post, we have seen how to create an application of WPF with. If you want to use pre-written emails, Gmail’s canned responses is the tool you need. So, why not create several templates and use them to answer certain types of emails? Gmail offers you a possibility to store such saved responses in your mailbox and reply to repetitive emails without ever having to write the same letters. If you have to respond to numerous typical requests or send multiple identical follow-ups to your clients, you probably write almost the same messages. Use Canned Responses to Send Pre-Written/Saved Responses Note that you would first need to set the forwarding addresses in the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” section of Gmail settings. Now all emails with the specific keyword in the subject line will be automatically sent to the chosen address. Also, you can click “Mark as read” so the messages won’t be displayed as unread.Find the “Forward it” box and fill in the address of your choice.Type in the keyword in the “Subject” field and use “Create filter” command. At the top of the screen find the search bar and click the dropdown button. You can also mark emails as read or important, move them to another folder, etc. You can sort Gmail emails by sender or subject and automatically forward them to your assistant or relevant department. For example, if someone sends you an email and mentions a meeting in a subject line, you might want to forward it to your secretary and don’t worry about scheduling. Use Filters to Automatically Forward and Mark EmailsĪnother trick to keep your inbox organized is to deal with irrelevant messages or requests that can be completed by your assistants. Now you can see the label next to all incoming messages with subjects that contain the respective search criteria.Type in your label, click “Create” and “Create filter”.Check the “Apply the label:” box, open the dropdown menu and click “New label…”.Type the label word into the subject line and use “Create filter” command.Click on the dropdown arrow next to the search bar. Moreover, you’re free to set up as many labels as you need to organize your inbox as precisely as possible. Gmail can automatically label incoming messages so you can just click on this mark and read all related emails. What is more, you can also set up certain terms as labels for more specific filtering. Right in the search bar, there is a dropdown menu that allows you to sort messages by subject, sender, or date. Luckily, there is a way automatically sort emails into folders in Gmail. To manage them properly, you can create several categories and then sort messages manually, but it can take a lot of time. You are receiving tons of emails and they all have different level of importance. Use Labels to Automatically Sort Incoming Messages Let’s look into some of the tasks you can automate. Auto Pact not been traded away by our leaders to get a free trade deal in the 1980s, GM would have been unable to close the plant because the Big Three automakers were required to produce as many vehicles as they sold in Canada. Had the provisions of the 1965 Canada–U.S. "Here is your 35-year pin."įrom a historical perspective, the Oshawa closure is completely unnecessary. You can picture a chain linked fence, he handed it to me through the fence. We'd like to give it to you." I said "OK." He said, "meet us at the front gate." You know, everything was closed so the fellow, our superintendent at the time, he gave me the 35-year pin. Then, a couple weeks later they phoned me up and said "you got a 35-year pin that we have here. I heard about the closure on television on the 6 o'clock news. They feel betrayed by their employers, their unions, their governments, sometimes even by their own communities. The sense of betrayal runs deep in working-class communities. And you still don't even believe it after its run over you and a hundred cars have run past. And then next thing you know you've been run over. "It's going to stop." "It's not coming." You hear the whistle and you feel the vibration. You see the train coming, you're on the track. One time he was even transferred into another assembly plant two weeks before it, too, closed. Gabriel Solano closed out three GM plants before his life was cut short by an early death. So, you end up with a blank in your life. Because it took all of those years to build this emotion and this feeling and then, it's not there. It's hard to explain because it's an emotion. You're looking at this baby, you're looking at this house and you're realizing "you know what? Something's missing and it's part of me." I don't so much feel that I was missing GM but I was missing a part of me. Me, as a person who said, "I have a goal and have a dream." To come home, I no longer have a job. Gabriel Solano, a GM worker in Detroit, explained what was lost the first time a plant closed under him: The human cost of job loss can be enormous, leading to depression, failing marriages or health, and even suicide. Long-term workers in particular lose a social structure in which they find validation. It shatters people's sense of belonging and identity. A plant closing is about much more than lost paychecks. I have been interviewing displaced industrial workers from Canada and the United States since the early 1990s. In my home region of Northern Ontario, for example, there are now more than 20 former mill towns with names like Iroquois Falls, Red Rock, Marathon, Elliot Lake, Fort Frances, Smooth Rock Falls, and Sturgeon Falls. Windsor, Ontario, was devastated in 1951 when Ford decided to relocate its auto-assembly plant to Oakville, located outside of Toronto. The Rabbids themselves account for a lot of this game's appeal - unlike the rest of the Rayman universe, they are instantly likeable. Rayman is kidnapped by these ridiculous little sado-masochists at the beginning of the game and forced to perform for their entertainment, which provides the somewhat flimsy justification for the fifty-odd consecutive minigames that make up the story mode. Raving Rabbids dispenses with every established Rayman character except the limbless nonce himself, allowing the titular Rabbids to take centre stage. That's carrot juice you're pumping into their visors. Played in a group, Raving Rabbids is surprisingly entertaining and often laugh-out-loud funny - occasionally because many of the games require you to move the nunchuck up and down as rapidly as possible in a vaguely suggestive manner, but more often because of its character design, variety and general silliness. Yes, it's just a series of mini-games, and no, it doesn't exactly exemplify the sophistication of control that the Wii is capable of (you'll want Trauma Centre: Second Opinion for a taste of that), but it does do a good job of showing how fun it can be. It's slapstick and bizarre and occasionally quite dark, and importantly, it makes no pretence of depth. Properly funny, too, not just immediately-forgettable, infantile funny. Now, though, I find myself unexpectedly charmed. I wasn't expecting to take to this at all on a professional level, let alone find any personal fondness for it. Whenever I played it at various preview stages, its wacky humour came across as trying a bit too hard and the mini-games themselves all seemed to involve the same three repetitive actions. Raving Rabbids also seems to represent everything that is a bit dodgy about the whole Wii concept - it is a sequence of mini-games, nothing more and nothing less, all based around controller movement. I don't hate the games, you understand - just the character, the world he inhabits, the weird little deformed things he usually has to rescue and, most of all, his silly early-90's fringe. In the interests of providing adequate background to this review, then, I feel compelled to admit that I've never liked Rayman. Even after years being forced to be professionally impartial, there are always going to be some games that you approach with a prejudice. The rest of it, a mere 8Gb for me, I keep as follows: 1. Carrying around 2TiB of films and crap you can't possibly maintain is a killer for all backup solutions. If you're a business you need to keep your filestore clean and tight. Chop your data in half explicitly: stuff you can afford to lose and can easily get back (films, music etc) and stuff you can't (family photos, designs, documents etc). Lets also not forget the tale of the idiots with an office in the World Trade Center who stored their backups in the basement. The IRA bombing of Manchester brought that one to light because the client's misaligned drive was buried under a few tons of rubble along with their Netware server (yes, I am that old) So, I would highly recommend to anyone who is creating a backup/disaster recovery plan that they include a periodic restore of the backed up data and a sanity check of the restored data which means actually examining the files you've restored. I've seen clients with boxes of backups which contain nothing but log files or the master is corrupted leaving only the incrementals, nothing at all or any other combination of worst case scenarios you can imagine including DAT tapes that previously restored correctly but were written on a misaligned DAT drive so they could not be read on a correctly aligned drive. Even a verify isn't a guarantee that your backup is good. There is a huge difference between having a log file that says something is backed up and actually being able to restore it. The log files don't tell you if what you're backing up is good or garbage and they don't tell you if it's restorable. that a lot of professionals, let alone individuals also suffer with. Does anyone have any ideas? ThanksįWIW, I respect Jack and his approach to backup is pretty good but there's one major flaw. Not a router or modem, an independent wifi device that can connect to a USB drive. So I am looking for something that can receive a wifi signal and connect to an USB drive that can be used as a backup. But I want to use USB drives so I can swap them out as they get full. I think there are wifi hard drives that might work. I know that there are routers that you can connect a backup drive to but my router is inside so this will not work. I would arrange some sort of shed or box and run power to it and set something up. Another method I would like to look into is use wi-fi and send the signals outside of my house. I like the idea of being reminded to backup weekly and get the drive as far away as possible. But all these backups are occurring inside my house. I use Sync Toy to do the backups by backing up to a USB drive every few days as needed then backing up the USB drive to an external drive in another room. I keep other drives in the garage and different rooms and in cans in the back yard. I use dozens of USB drives and keep one set about 20 miles away but I only update them once a year. While reading this article (towards end of article) I started thinking about my backups. With that information, there's enough identify the address, and it can be considered "deliverable" (with some standardization). Number 1 is complete because it contains a street address and a city and state. Punctuation and line breaks not guaranteed. Here are some contrived (but complete) addresses: 1) 102 main streetĮven these are possibly valid: 4) 829 LKSDFJlkjsdflkjsdljf Bkpw 12345 Addresses come in unexpected shapes and sizes But you could probably roll your own if you're really into that. You'd need some code that really understands addresses, and if that code does exist, it's a trade secret. (Who knew that "Stravenue" was a street suffix?) Words can mean more than one thing ("St" can be "Saint" or "Street") and there are words that I'm pretty sure they invented. Worst of all, addresses are often ambiguous. USPS Publication 28 documents the many formats of addresses that are possible, with all their keywords and variations. In theory and by theory, it's not possible to match addresses with a regular expression. There isn't an easy magic formula to get this to work. I don't recommend these (for example, here's a fiddle of the above regex, that makes plenty of mistakes). to this where a 900+ line-class file generates a supermassive regular expression on the fly to match even more. I've seen it all, from simple regular expressions that match addresses in a very specific format, to this: This means that regular expressions are out. The company I was at processed billions of addresses, and we learned a lot in the process.įirst, we need to understand a few things about addresses. I'm posting the answer here to make it more accessible to programmers who are searching around with the same question. I saw this question a lot when I worked for an address verification company. Is there a way to isolate an address from the text around it and break it into pieces? Is there a regular expression to parse addresses? How can i show a pre populated postal address in contacts screen with street, city, zip on android.More efficient way to extract address components. How do I parse the free format address to save into the DataBase.Google can do this but the Terms of Service and query limits are prohibitive, especially on a tight budget.Users may enter more than just their address (like their name or company with it).The address must be separated into parts (street, city, state, etc.) to process credit card payments. The address the user types may not be correct or in a standard format. We do business largely in the United States and are trying to improve user experience by combining all the address fields into a single text area. There’s space for jotting down ideas for the project, materials needed, and the steps needed to complete it. I figured having one page to keep track of all the details was a good idea.Īgain, it’s simple. This, by far, was one of the biggests challenges with my previous systems. This printable was designed to keep track of all the details for a project. I plan to use those last columns as check boxes, but I made them big enough to put in dates if that’s what works best for you. There’s room to write down what the project is, the page number (if you want to use that column) as well as the Start and End. As you can see in the picture above it’s just a simple list. The easiest way I could think of was to create an index for the projects.Įasy to set up and easy to maintain were the two criteria I used for the Index. With multiple projects on the go in our family, I knew I needed something to help me keep track of all of them. My goal was a system for planning and tracking our projects. I knew right from the beginning that one printable wasn’t going to be enough for this. That’s where the new project planning printable set comes in. Aside from home projects, we each have our own hobbies and interests, and I wanted to create a system that was flexible enough to accommodate them all and was still easy to set up and maintain. We have a variety of different kinds of projects on the go at any given time. I finally decided it was time to figure out a way to organize our projects in a way that help us stay on track and that would be easy to maintain as time went on. The idea was great, but I was finding that information about various projects was getting scattered amoung the months and weeks.Īs you can see, some worked better than others, but none stood the test of time. Scheduled Them in my Planner – the goal with this was to make time to actually get the projects done.Dedicated Notebook – this worked for a bit, but it got very confusing over time as I updated the information.Lists – which work great, but over time they need to be rewritten, and I found I was rewriting things too often, or not updating them as I should.Over the years I’ve tried a number of different systems to help work with my scattered brain. Oops! Now, we have an extra year’s worth of stuff to go through. The workload will quadruple before I remember that – oh yeah – we were going to clear out the clutter from that space last year. There’s just one problem – I’m a scatter-brain and if I don’t have a way to keep track of what we have going on, or need to do, nothing will ever get done. After all I love making lists and planning things. I’m not sure how I ended up being the project keeper, but I did. In our family, I tend to be the one who keeps track of all the projects we have on the go. That’s why I created a project planning printable set. Keeping on track with our projects, whether they’re for fun or necessity can be tough. It often feels that we just finish one and two more pop up. Projects that need attention at work or for school. Craft and hobby projects that we want to tackle. There always seems to be something that needs to be worked on around the home. In this crazy thing we call life, projects seem to be never ending.
